Nestled along East Cesar E Chavez Avenue in Los Angeles, Thai Deli is a vibrant and authentic Thai restaurant that masterfully blends traditional Thai flavors with a unique Korean BBQ twist. A beloved neighborhood gem, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone craving bold, flavorful dishes in a casual, bustling environment.
Thai Deli’s menu is a tantalizing journey through the rich tastes of Southeast Asia and Korean flavors. Standouts like the Teriyaki Chicken & Korean BBQ Combo and the legendary Korean BBQ Short Ribs provide a delicious harmony of smoky, sweet, and savory notes that leave an unforgettable impression. Fans often rave about the Pad Thai — stir-fried rice stick noodles tossed in a house-made sauce, sprinkled with crushed peanuts, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and tang. Equally enticing are signature dishes such as Pad Kee Mao (spicy drunken noodles), the hearty Combination Chow Mein, and the fiery Chilli Spicy Chicken or Pork, which satisfy those seeking a kick of heat paired with fresh aromatic herbs.
The menu's versatility is impressive, offering everything from grilled delights like the Chicken, Pork, or Beef Teriyaki, each served with comforting sides of green and macaroni salad, to stir-fried classics like Chicken Chop Suey and Rad Na, a beloved Thai noodle dish drenched in velvety gravy. Seafood lovers will appreciate the generous portions of Shrimp Fried Rice and perfectly fried shrimp that capture the essence of home-style cooking.
What truly sets Thai Deli apart is its no-frills, fast-paced atmosphere. This is the kind of place where the hum of phones and the steady flow of orders create an energetic rhythm, hinting at the popularity and demand for their incredible dishes. While indoor dining space is minimal—more a takeout haven than a sit-down restaurant—there’s an easygoing vibe that invites patrons to savor their meals outside or bring the feast home. Customers frequently note the friendly and efficient service, even during busy rushes, underscoring the team’s dedication to quality and speed.
Real diners share glowing testimonials: One long-time fan praises the Korean BBQ short ribs as the best offered at a fast food spot, highlighting the tender, flavorful meat as the true star of the plate. Others commend the combination plates—the mix of smoky BBQ meats and classic Thai noodles or rice dishes hits every craving perfectly. Despite the modest setting and casual cash-only policy (an ATM is conveniently onsite), most customers find the generous portions and pocket-friendly prices irresistible.
Thai Deli’s drinks menu rounds off the complete experience with refreshing options like Micheladas and the iconic Thai Tea Boba, providing both a cool counterpoint to spicy dishes and a sweet finish to your meal. For food lovers seeking hearty, authentic Thai cuisine with a delicious Korean BBQ flair—and who appreciate genuine, down-to-earth hospitality—Thai Deli offers an adventure in every bite.

Came here because my friend and I were craving Thai food and we were in the area. We tried the pad thai, pad see ew, and bbq chicken/bbq beef combo plate. They were all really good. Too bad I can't eat this every day. There was a long line of people ordering, but time flew by quickly. The phones were constantly off the hook. I was impressed with how fast the staff worked. I'll definitely be back for more. It's cash only and to go only. No dine in. I came near closing time so there was plenty of parking.
Omg! This place was busy and absolutely delicious!!! CASH only! But they have an ATM! Prices are super adorable and for the amount of food you get! Highly recommended! And you can call your order ahead. Just be patient and kind, but highly recommended!
You can order ahead so you don't have to wait. Food is delicious and priced just right. There's not space to ear inside but you can eat outside. I highly recommend if your in the mood for Thai food.
More of a hole in the wall. No place inside to eat. They do a lot of orders even apps. You can eat in parking but shared with other businesses, so first come, first serve... better used as take out and eat at home. Excellent prices - even can soda is like $1.50 very reasonable.
I’ve been going to this spot for more than 15 years and it’s the best Korean bbq ribs for a fast food spot. I ordered their #6 Korean bbq short ribs with rice and macaroni salad. It’s the short ribs that make the meal amazing. The pad Thai was pretty good but I’ve had better. This place is definitely a spot to check out for the Korean bbq and chicken too. Not a lot of room for dine in & mainly a pick up spot. On peak times, your waits can be real long so call ahead.
This is a take-out place only, cash only. The food is good, and they prepare it quickly. There are parks nearby that you can take the food to eat, as I did. The parking lot is small and busy, also one-way, so pay attention to the arrows. If delivery is an option, I would definitely do that instead in the future.
Thai deli is my partners favorite spot to get chicken teriyaki. The price is reasonable, the portions are large and all the plates I tried are tasty. The only downside are the limited parking and cash-only payments. Still worth it!
Had to try this place due to proximity to home + reportedly authentic Thai food. Vibe was chill, no wait, cash only, Thai music videos playing in the background. Got the pad see ew, asked for spicy. Rang up 10.13 exactly, gave them $11, loved every bite! Went again fam, truly incredible KBBQ ribs combo. I asked for no rice, extra salad. The macaroni salad was incredible as were the SHORT RIBS! So flavorful and tender. Rang up at $13.50 and worth every single penny. Very pandemic-cautious with mask required and given a buzzer / asked to wait outside. All of which I’m totally cool with!
